Today, the Root Center for Advanced Recovery is one of the largest provider of methadone treatment in the country and is now expanding its continuum of behavioral health services, with its newest addition of the Intensive Outpatient Program. The agency treats over 5,600 clients per day within its network of nine statewide clinics.
The Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Counselor has a primary focus on group counseling; assessments and evaluations for the clients of the Root Center for Advanced Recovery. The Adolescent IOP Counselor also works with their assigned case load to develop treatment planning and referrals for their clients. Other counseling services and administrative responsibilities include treatment planning, record keeping and documentation, urine monitoring, handling patient fees, and other clinical duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides consistent supervision and support to clients to ensure treatment goals are met consistently and timely for all program requirements. Provides educational oversight for clients on functions related to care planning and recovery. Strives to provide and exceed quality performance improvement standards for patient care.
Education, Licensure & Experience
Master’s degree in social work, psychology or allied science with active clinical license in the state of Connecticut as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT or a Master’s degree and license eligible. The applicant should have at least one year of full time counselor experience in the behavioral health treatment field, preferably in the area of substance abuse. One year experience working with adolescents is required.
