The Root Center is currently seeking a passionate, hardworking, bilingual Substance Abuse Counselors to become a member of the agency. The substance abuse counselor role is critical in assisting with the agency’s mission and vision. The ideal candidate will be process oriented, possess strong program/project management skills, and excellent communication skills. Position Summary

The substance abuse counselor is responsible for individual, group, and family counseling services; assessment and evaluation; individualized treatment planning, referrals, record keeping and documentation, urine monitoring, patient fee system, front desk coverage and other counseling and clinical duties as assigned.

Education, Licensure & Experience

Master’s degree with an active clinical license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LADC) or license eligible within two years. Strong computer skills and at least one year of full-time counselor experience in the behavioral health field. Substance abuse treatment experience preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provides consistent supervision and support to clients to ensure treatment goals are met consistently and timely for all program requirements. Provides educational oversight for clients on functions related to care planning and recovery. Strives to provide and exceed quality performance improvement standards for patient care.
