Aliza Castro, Director of Clinical Services, has worked for Root Center for Advanced Recovery since 1996 and in the behavioral health field for twenty-three years. Ms. Castro is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and has responsibility for overseeing the agency’s treatment programs and implementation of new service lines.
Ms. Castro has managed multiple research projects over the years, provides clinical training in evidenced-based practice treatment approaches and evaluation methods, and believes in mentoring employees through clinical supervision. Aliza strives to deliver quality behavioral healthcare treatment to individuals with substance using disorders in the State of CT.
Ms. Castro has presented at The American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence national conferences on “Integrating Evidence Based Therapies for Co-Occurring Disorders” and “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for PTSD,” in addition to community Medication Assisted Treatment forums. Aliza holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Rhode Island and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutger’s University.
