Director of Clinical Services
Paul Cancro, Director of Clinical Services, has worked in behavioral health field for the last 20 years. Mr. Cancro is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and has responsibility for overseeing the agency’s treatment programs and implementation of new service lines.
Mr. Cancro has successfully directed multiple evidenced based treatment programs including; IICAPS, MST, MDFT and school based Intensive Outpatient Service for adolescents throughout Connecticut. Paul has worked extensively with high risk young people and adults struggling with complex trauma, mental health and substance use disorders. During the last 15 years, he has provided supervision and clinical oversight for a wide range of clinical disciplines. His work has focused on training therapists to understand the importance of developing the best, most effective research-based intervention strategies. These techniques have encouraged a patient centered approach, allowing for the co-construction of achievable, sustainable treatment goals. Paul is optimistic that all patients can achieve short and long-term goals when approached with compassion and respect in treatment.
Paul received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the New School University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Additionally, he completed his SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction) certification at Southern Connecticut University.
