Steven Zuckerman, LPC, MA, is the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Root Center. He is responsible for the overall strategic planning and operations of the organization, where he works collaboratively with the organization’s Board of Directors, executive leadership team, and area providers to ensure the highest quality of services are provided to patients.
Mr. Zuckerman arrived at the organization in February 2017 after serving most recently as Vice President of Operations at the Rushford Center in Meriden, Connecticut. With more than 20 years of experience in the field of behavioral health, he has held progressively higher levels of leadership and clinical roles with various degrees of oversight and clinical range.
Some of Mr. Zuckerman’s previous roles include Director of the Psychiatric Services Department for L&M Hospital in New London, Connecticut; Director of Psychiatric Services for Community Health Services, Inc., in Hartford, Connecticut; and multiple program director positions for Natchaug Hospital in Willimantic, Connecticut. His diverse background includes working with children, adolescents, and adults who are facing mental health and/or addiction-based diseases, in a broad array of service lines that he has helped to grow, enhance, and develop.
