This is Doug, he has been with the Root Center since 2015. However, up until now, Doug has had to travel 36 miles roundtrip to get treatment because he lives in Middlesex County, and Middlesex County previously had a law explicitly prohibiting methadone clinics within city limits. Root fought this discriminatory law, and eventually won, and we are now proud to open the first and only healthcare clinic to offer methadone in Middlesex County. For Doug, and many others, treatment will now be available where he lives. We are honored that Doug is a patient of ours, and bravely shares his story to show others that we DO recover.
