Medical Student Training
The Root Center for Advanced Recovery is an active participant in medical education in a variety of arenas. Our staff serve as adjunct faculty members whereby we participate in the didactic component of a student’s education. As adjunct faculty members we also serve as on-site clinical supervisors for real time patient experience, teaching, and feedback for students at any of our sites throughout the State of Connecticut.
Root Center’s Medical Education Program
We are currently involved with several undergraduate medical education programs including nursing, health studies, social work, and counseling programs. We also work with medical students, physician assistant students, and advanced practice nursing students. From a graduate medical education perspective, we serve as clinical faculty for psychiatric residents, psychiatric fellows in child & adolescent psychiatry, and psychiatric fellows in addiction medicine.
While we have various academic affiliations, some of our major affiliates include the University of Connecticut, University of Hartford, University of Bridgeport, St. Joseph’s University, Sacred Heart University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Fairfield University, Hartford Healthcare/Rushford’s Addiction Fellowship Program, New York University, Boston University, among many others.
